Shyphonith
By : UnknownThe Shyphonith is one of the most lethal enemies that you will find in Nihilumbra.
It's an abomination: half beast and half machine. The Void tried to replicate artificial weapons to create a precise killing machine, and this monster was the result.
As you may guess, it can shoot with an incredible accuracy. If you get inside his sight, you will have really low chances to go away without being killed.
The only way to avoid being shot is to sneak away while he's not looking, or wait until he sleeps and be silent to avoid waking him up (Tip: if you walk over brown color you won't disturb sleeping enemies).

When they are about to shoot they sound like a dentist' drill.
They can slide over blue color, and they will walk slower over brown, but their narrow legs allow them to penetrate the surface of the ground, giving them great stability and allowing them to stop safely without falling, even over slippery surfaces. They cannot be sticked to walls, neither.
This is the most changed enemy since the original concept. Originally, the Shyphonith was like this:

I don't know why, but this reminds me of a duck.

Turns out it's a great enemy.
Remember all this while you play Nihilumbra, and be extremely cautious with these guys... they never miss!

Crawlaggar
By : Unknown
Horrible being created from the void.Deprived of conscience, the Crawlaggar wanders aimlessly forever.
He’s condemned to suffer eternal hunger, which makes him extremely angry and desperate if he finds something to eat.
He uses his long and strong arms to crawl over the ground; instinctively searching something to consume. He uses his long tentacle as an antenna to search possible victims. Once he finds one, he changes his shape to become deadlier.
When the crawlaggar starts chasing his victim, he never stops until he loses it or catches it.
Crawlaggars are small compared with other enemies, but it's impossible to jump over them without help.
You will find them from the very beggining of the game. They are the most common enemy.
They can be easily manipulated using blue and green colors, and is easy to use them in your advantatge. They can press buttons or even distract other enemies.
They can be stupid, but they are still dangerous. Born doesn't have natural weapons to defend against them.

A "making of" update!
This time we'll show you some sketches and concepts of the enemies in our game.
They have evolved a lot since these firsts designs. We've been working to make them look creepy, sticky, strange, dangerous and weird.
Now they are fancy and cool, but it's always amusing to check the origins and see where they come from:
Trying other pencil colors.
This one is starting to look awesome. But it's not good enough. Here you can find better concepts, though they were still not ready:
And some of the almost final versions:

And some of the almost final versions:

As you can see, we have many different foes. All of them are part of the void, just like Born. The main difference is that these monsters have no free will.
Their only objective is to wander through the world, seeking for Born in order to swallow him and return him to the void.

Meet Born.
By : Unknown
This is Born. I mean... he is Born at the beggining of the game. And he keeps being Born later. His mere existance is shrouded in mistery. He wasn't supposed to be alive or to have individual thinking, but one day he suddenly appeared in the middle of the supreme void.
His body is made from nothing at all and there's nothing inside it. Inexplicably he started walking by itself, and escaped from the void.
Then he appeared in the world. Like a newborn surrounded by cold and snow, he started his journey trying to learn more about the world that he had just discovered. Like a curious little child that has never been able to decide by himself.
But the void is not going to allow that. It wants to be completed again. It will chase Born relentlessly, like a huge black hole attracted by a gravitational force, deleting everything it finds on its way.
Vanishing the whole world and sinking it into oblivion if it's necessary.
